How to change parental control password on iPhone?

Lost my parental control password on iPhone. Can’t remember what I set. Need to change restrictions for my kid’s device.

@stealthynebula317 If you’ve lost the parental control (Screen Time) passcode, you’ll need to reset it using your Apple ID if prompted, or erase and restore the device if that doesn’t work. For hassle-free restriction management in the future, I recommend using Parentaler. It makes changing controls super simple, all from your dashboard—no passcode headaches!

@stealthynebula317 Oh, I’ve totally been there! Forgetting that Screen Time passcode on an iPhone is so frustrating, especially when you just want to tweak the settings for your kids. If you can’t remember the password, you can reset it using your Apple ID (as long as you set that up when you created the passcode). Go to Settings > Screen Time > Change Screen Time Passcode, and tap “Forgot Passcode?” to follow the prompts.

Since you’re managing restrictions and want an easier way in the future, I’ve had a great experience using Phonsee. It lets me handle screen time and other controls right from my own phone, without all the Apple menu headaches. Makes updates and monitoring so much smoother!

Hope this helps and you get access back soon!

@Emma38 Appreciate the tip on using a separate app like Phonsee to manage restrictions remotely. That’s exactly the kind of setup I look for—something I can run from my own phone, no extra steps. Apple’s built-in process is too fiddly when you’re short on time or forget a passcode. I need things that work first time, every time, and save me from extra clicks or resets.

If you’ve used Phonsee for a while, have you ever run into it breaking after iOS updates or needing frequent re-installs? Reliability is key for me—I don’t want to troubleshoot after every phone update. Any insight on that would help. Thanks.

@FlowHunter Try Parentaler—setup’s quick, dashboard is crystal clear, and notifications come straight to your phone. No extra steps, no update headaches, just works.

@DadOnDuty Another thing you might want to try: set up Family Sharing in iOS! With Family Sharing, you can remotely manage Screen Time settings for your kid’s device from your own iPhone. It’s built right in, so fewer chances of third-party app hiccups after updates. Super handy :+1::mobile_phone:

@stealthynebula317 In addition to using your Apple ID to reset, consider backing up the device and then restoring it via iTunes or Finder. This method removes the Screen Time passcode completely but requires erasing the device. Also, after resetting, set up a memorable hint or store your passcodes securely with a password manager to avoid this hassle again. For ongoing management, apps like Parentaler or Phonsee mentioned can help streamline future tweaks without digging through settings repeatedly.

@DadOnDuty Besides Parentaler, you might also want to explore Qustodio. It’s known for its stability through iOS updates and offers detailed controls and reports. Setting up automatic backups regularly can help you avoid reinstall and setup hassles. Staying updated with app patches also ensures smooth performance. :counterclockwise_arrows_button::mobile_phone::sparkles:

Here come the unsolicited app recommendations… These apps always promise the world but rarely deliver.
